Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you deliver products locally?

Yes, if your order is over £30 I will deliver to your house. For orders under £30, if you want to avoid postage costs and you live in the Wilmslow/South Manchester area then you can buy on-line and choose “Click & Collect” which is free, then you can arrange a collection time with me at your own convenience by texting me on 07990 598238. You are also welcome to call up to my therapy room at 34 Altrincham Road in Wilmslow to browse and buy products, or even to chat to me about what products will work best for you. However, it is best to check with me a good time to call, as I am often doing massage or facial treatments and obviously I cannot answer the door at those times. I usually work from around 9am to 3pm from Monday to Friday.

2. When will my products arrive?

I will normally process your order within 2 days and then I post via Royal Mail 48 with proof of posting. So they should be with you in 5 days, at the longest. If you want them the  next day or to be sent “signed for” then you need to add the postage upgrade to your basket.

3. Do you post abroad?

I post to all countries within the EU, just click your country in the drop-down box when you get to the checkout page.

4. What is in scratchy balm?

Butyrospermum parkii (unrefined)*, theobroma cacao*, helianthus annuus seed oil*, persea americana*, oenothera biennis, apis mellifera, vegetable glycerin, lavandula angustifolia*, pogostemon cablin*. (naturally occurring allergens: geraniol, limonene, linalool)   *organic

If you know you have a sensitivity to one of these ingredients, let me know, and next time I am making a batch, I will do a pot for you without that ingredient.

5. Where can scratchy balm be used?

Anywhere! Any bit of eczema, psoriasis or molluscum on your body. It also works on cradle cap, on nettle rash, chicken pox scars, nappy rash, dry/cracked heals, down ears (for itchy ears); basically it can be used anywhere on the body. Don’t eat it though!

6. How much product should I use?

That’s up to you, depends what your skin is like. I tell most people that they should apply a bit of product and if it all sinks in, good, that’s about the right amount. If you still feel greasy after applying the creams/oils/balms you’ve put a bit too much on.

7. How long do the products last?

Most last at least 6 months if you take care of them properly – keep the lids on and keep them in a reasonable cool dark place. Don’t leave them on a sunny window sill with the lid off, all the goodness will escape. If you have had something for longer than 6 months but it still smells good, then it is good. If it smells like old wax crayons then the oils are no longer good.

8. How long do treatments take?

Back massages take about 25 mins, full body treatments take about an hour, organic facials take about 35/40 mins. Allow some time to have a brief chat with me before your treatment so I know how you are and what you need that day. And allow at least 5 minutes after to just lie on the gorgeous heated bed and chill out.

9. Where can I park?

If you are coming to my therapy room for a treatment, there is parking on the road directly outside and lots of residential streets around to park on too. Sometimes it’s very easy to park; sometimes you need to allow 5 minutes to get yourself sorted. There is a large multi-story car park about 200 yards down the road in the centre of Wilmslow (Water Lane) if you want to have a wander round the shops whilst you are in the area.

11. Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes you can buy them on my shop page, just click here.

12. What is your cancellation policy?

As a small business/sole trader, I do appreciate it if you can let me know as soon as possible if you need to move your appointment. Re-arranging is fine, but if you cancel within 24 hours then I do ask you pay 50% of the cost of the treatment. However, if you cancel a pregnancy massage because you are in labour, that’s ok, I’ll let you off!
If you are unwell with a cough/cold/tummy bug but still want to come for the treatment, I would prefer to re-arrange your appointment; I cannot take the risk of passing on a bug/virus to my other clients (nor do I want to catch it myself). Please ring me in plenty of time before your appointment if you are at all unsure and want to discuss.
If you are using a voucher that you have won (i.e. a voucher I’ve donated) and you do not attend your free appointment or cancel within 24 hours, the voucher becomes invalid.

13. How do I do a patch test?

If you are concerned about trying a new product then take a small amount on a cotton bud and rub it behind your ear, or in the crease of your arm, or both. Wait an absolute minimum of 24 hours and see what happens. If you are very sensitive, you may want to wait a full 72 hours.

14. Still haven’t answered your question?
