1. Do you deliver products locally?
Yes, if your order is over £35 I will deliver to your house. For orders under £35, if you want to avoid postage costs and you live in the Wilmslow/South Manchester area then you can buy on-line and choose “Click & Collect” which is free, then you can arrange a collection time with me at your own convenience by texting me on 07990 598238.
2. When will my products arrive?
I will normally process your order within 2 days and then I post via Royal Mail 48 with proof of posting. So they should be with you in 5 days, at the longest. If you want them more quickly it’s best to let me know, and I’ll do my best to get them out more quickly for you.
3. Do you post abroad?
No, sadly because of stupid Brexit I can now only post within the UK.
4. What is in scratchy balm?
Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter)*, theobroma cacao (cocoa butter)*, helianthus annuus seed oil (sunflower seed oil)*, persea americana (avocado oil)*, oenothera biennis (evening primrose oil), apis mellifera (sustainably sourced beeswax from kind beekeepers), lavandula angustifolia* (lavender essential oil), pogostemon cablin (patchouli essential oil)*. (naturally occurring allergens: geraniol, limonene, linalool) *organic
If you know you have a sensitivity to one of these ingredients, let me know, and next time I am making a batch, I will do a pot for you without that ingredient. I can also make a vegan version without the beeswax. See more about Scratchy Balm here.
5. Where can scratchy balm be used?
Anywhere! Any bit of eczema, psoriasis or molluscum on your body. It also works on cradle cap, on nettle rash, chicken pox scars, nappy rash, dry/cracked heals, down ears (for itchy ears); basically it can be used anywhere on the body. Don’t eat it though!
6. How much product should I use?
That’s up to you, depends what your skin is like. I tell most people that they should apply a bit of product and if it all sinks in, good, that’s about the right amount. If you still feel greasy after applying the creams/oils/balms you’ve put a bit too much on.
7. How long do the products last?
Most last at least 6 months if you take care of them properly – keep the lids on and keep them in a reasonably cool dark place. Don’t leave them on a sunny window sill with the lid off, all the goodness will escape. If you have had something for longer than 6 months but it still smells good, then it is good. If it smells like old wax crayons then the oils are no longer good.
8. What products should I use?
If you need help with choosing the right products then please pop along to this very quick and easy skincare quiz. Once I’ve seen it, I will get back to you within approx 48 hours.
9. Do you do gift vouchers?
Yes you can buy them on my shop page, just click here.
10. How do I do a patch test?
If you are concerned about trying a new product then take a small amount on a cotton bud and rub it behind your ear, or in the crease of your arm, or both. Wait an absolute minimum of 24 hours and see what happens. If you are very sensitive, you may want to wait a full 72 hours.
